Okay, here we go with the driver's license name change... which checks against my existing passport (with the new name in it), so that should be simpler. But I don't expect it will be...

I was pleased to discover that my phone provider, www.thephone.coop (a co-operative trying to trade ethically) has a computer system that was happy not to give me a surname, and just change my name for me over the phone! If they can do it, you'd think my bank could cope, sigh...
