I just tried (and failed) to find a way to search for "10.2" on this website. Am I missing something 'obvious' involving arcane regex meanderings, or is this a bug?

I could find several posts with "10.2" in it by using the Google Custom Search box at the top of this page so I think this is a bug in the PHPNuke software that we use for this site.

Personally, I think the PHPNuke search functionality is inferior to the Google Custom Search primarily because the PHPNuke code can only perform raw database queries whereas Google's search functionality is state of the art.

Update: I took a quick look at the PHPNuke code and actually what is happening is that the PHPNuke code purposely filters out any punctuation in your query. Apparently the intent of their code is to increase the likelihood of finding a match but it actually has the opposite effect when search for version numbers.

Ah - I had the feeling it might be deliberate, but couldn't imagine why. And of course I didn't think to use the google search Embarassed.
