I notice that the latest release of LibreOffice has "Microsoft Works and Lotus Word Pro document import filters" and wondered if there's scope for these making their way into NeoOffice, or whether clash of licence types prohibits this?

Those 2 import filters have been in Go-oo for a few years now so they are not actually new and, because NeoOffice 3.1.2 is based on Go-oo 3.1.1.1, the Microsoft Works filter is in NeoOffice 3.1.2. Just open a new, empty Writer document, select the File :: Open menu, and change the "File type" list box to "Microsoft Works Document (*.wps)".

The only reason that the Lotus Word Pro import filter is not included in NeoOffice is that I found that it crashes during import quite frequently on Mac OS X. It seemed to work fine in Linux versions of Go-oo but I was unable to pinpoint the cause of the crashing on Mac OS X.

If anyone can attach some Lotus Word Pro files to this forum topic, I can take another look at the Go-oo 3.1.1.1 code and see if the crashing bugs are fixable.

Good to know, I've obviously not been keeping up to date with the import filters story (I didn't know there were Works filters already, that's something I'll pass on to folk).
