I am thinking of getting the Mac with Retina Display. Does NeoOffice support retina in being able to have the full benefit of the high resolution on this Mac?

I was listening to a podcast where it was stated that many applications do not support the full resolution with many of the elements at 72 dpi (I think). Anyway, I obviously do not understand what I am talking about here or the tech jargon, but would like to know if I get a retina Mac if I will be able to see the full resolution benefit with NeoOffice text and elements.

Thank you.

In most cases, our de-Javafied code in our upcoming NeoOffice 3.3 Beta should handle text and shape drawing to the full resolution of a Retina display.

Where I think that I still need to tweak our code is when drawing high resolution images in document's where the image has been scaled down in size. I am hoping that I can make this improvement in bitmap rendering in a patch while we are in Beta so that we can include it in the NeoOffice 3.3 official release at the beginning of August.

FYI. More discussion about the details of NeoOffice's Retina display compatibility is in this forum topic.

FYI. A user with confirmed in this forum post that our latest NeoOffice 3.3 Beta test patch properly displays text, lines, shapes, and native controls in high resolution on their Retina display.

FYI. I have included the fix for blurry text on Retina displays in NeoOffice 3.3 Beta 2 which can be downloaded from the NeoOffice download page.
