As part of our plans to use Cocoa instead of the Apple's deprecated HITheme functions, I have reimplemented NeoOffice's native tree buttons (also known as disclosure buttons), column headers, and group boxes.

Specifically, the test patches below include the following 3 changes:

1. Cocoa-based tree buttons - If there are no bugs, the tree buttons in item trees should be the same as before. The only difference is that the tree buttons are now drawn a few pixels to the left to better match the area in which mouse clicks will cause the item to expand or collapse. The new tree buttons are shown in the left panel of the first screen snapshot attached to this post.

2. Cocoa-based column headers - Column headers should be the same as before. The only difference is that, when pressed, a column header will now be drawn with the standard OS X "pressed table column header" color. Also, dragging the mouse outside of a pressed column header will properly draw the column header as unpressed. The new column headers are shown in the right panel of the first screen snapshot attached to this post.

3. Cocoa-based group boxes - You should see no changes in either sharp cornered or rounded corner group boxes. Both of the new group boxes are shown in the second screen snapshot attached to this post.

Can anyone install either of the following test patches and tell us if tree buttons, column headers, or group boxes appear to be drawn incorrectly?:

I've installed NeoOffice 3.3 Patch 9 Test 7.
I see all the changes you describe, and so far no ill effects on the drawing fo the various elements affected by the changes.

I've installed 2013 Test 8 and it seems to be behaving as you indicate.

PS. Thanks for the fix on the hang when dragging text. I had encountered it a couple of times but not consistently enough to replicate it.

FYI. I have included the new code in NeoOffice 3.3 Patch 10. The patch can be downloaded from the NeoOffice patch download page.
