NOJ has been relatively stable on my aluminum 17" at home, but quite unstable on my iMac original flat-panel at work (of course, I use it more at work too). Recently, I re-discovered that I had once installed Darwin [QuickTime] Streaming Server on my iMac (don't ask why!). On Thursday, I removed it.

NOJ on the iMac at work has been running continuously (and smoothly!) ever since, and some of the other weird system problems I used to have on the office iMac also seem (too early to be sure) to have vanished.

If we were running a formal beta test, we'd all have our systems running plain-vanilla so we could eliminate stuff like that. I'm afraid I've been wasting Ed and Patrick's time by reporting bugs which may not have been coming from NOJ...although I can't imagine why QTSS would be screwing up Java. Anyway, this is something for all of us to bear in mind. Cheers,

Hrm, offhand I'd say that seems to be quite bizarre. For better or for worse, the 1.3 VM isn't really being upgraded by Apple so if these kindn of bizarre issues crop up between the OS and the VM I'm not sure if there's any solution in the future Sad

I'll be on the lookout for any strange behaviour and see if I can install streaming server on one of my test partitions.
