By accident, I recently learned of a feature that Apple added back in OS X Mountain Lion: when you press and hold an unaccented vowel key - such as the "a", "e", "i", "o", and "u" keys - OS X will display a popup window that contains the list of accented characters that match the pressed key.
NeoOffice did not implement this OS X feature correctly. When pressing and holding a vowel key, NeoOffice would repeatedly enter the unaccented character even after OS X displayed the list of accented characters.
I have fixed this bug so that NeoOffice will stop repeatedly entering a unaccented character immediately after OS X displays the list of accented characters. You do not need to wait until the next NeoOffice release to get this bug fix. You can get the bug fix now by downloading and installing one of the following test patches:
