Willit be possible in the future, once you close the last document to close automatically the blank window with it but keeping NeoOffice loaded ?

Probably not. The way OOo is organized, it needs that blank window to remain loaded. OOo is designed from a Windows programming perspective where applications traditionally exit when the last window goes bye bye.

Sad From my very specific end-user perspective, current behaviour is a little regression. Is there a way to make this option configurable, even in a text file, if not in the GUI. Never mind if it is not easy. That is just a minor annoyance.

Well... I do like the fact NeoOffice stays alive when I close the last active window (especially on my underpowered G3 PoBo without enough memory..128Mb...).

but Isn't it an idea, when there's a nice gray window, to make it a sort-of start menu? Like AppleWorks has? Is that a possibility? Not that I know anything about programming, so if I'm suggesting something extremely complex... just shoot me Smile

If it's possible, it looks a LOT less dull 'Windows-like', I think. And a new document/spreadsheet/whatsoever is just a mouse-click away...

In the meantime, at least you can go to Tools-Options-Appearance-Application Background and choose a non-grey colour for the empty window, which will make it less 'soft - I favour Dark Violet as it goes with my desktop background... Wink
