I just downloaded a copy of NeoOffice/J and am loving it. I am looking for one specific thing though to make it work for me in writing a book. MS Word has a "map" function that pulls out a side pane and lists all of your headings and subheadings. Is there anything like this in NeoOffice/J. Please say yes!!! I really like this program and am hoping to use it instead of Word.

Yes, this functionality is there.
It's called Navigator. You open it with one of the icons in the toolbar. It displays all kind of objects in the document and, playing with it or reading the help, you'll learn to display only the items you need to, i.e. the headings, up to the choosen level.

Thank you so much for your quick reply. The only problem is that I am now stuck at work, away from my laptop at home. Maybe I am not feeling too well, cough, cough, feeling dizzy, should...go...home....
Or maybe I just need to wait until I get off work. Strange how the sickness comes and goes like that?!
