| I would LOVE to have a simple increase/decrease font size function. Either the adobe method (command-shift < or >) or the apple/firefox convention (command + or -). |

You can already add them yourself: just add shortcut keys for "Increase Font" and "Reduce Font" (in the "Format" category) as described in the wiki. Note that you'll have to un-map ⌘- and ⌘+ (and that Adobe's < > keys aren't available for use).

I never found the "Increase font" or "Reduce font" under Tools -> Customize... -> Format
Did you? I am also interested in this feature.

I suspect what you mean by Tools > Customize… > Format is in fact Tools > Customize… > Menus > Format, which only shows the items present in the Format menu (of NeoOffice's menu bar).
"Increase Font" and "Decrease Font" are found in Tools > Customize… > Menus > Add… > Format, or Tools > Customize… > Toolbars > Add… > Format, or in the Format category in Tools > Customize… > Keyboard.
As I understand it, the Customize… dialog works this way: first, you select the menu/submenu or toolbar that you want to modify (or Keyboard if you want to modify or add a keyboard shortcut), and then you can add/remove an item to what you selected. |

I did in fact mean Tools -> Customize... -> Keyboard, Category: Format. Sorry about the confusion. However, under "Category": Format, I don't find neither "Increase Font" nor "Reduce Font". Only "Increase Spacing". Same if I follow your "Add..." instructions.

I just tried this and here is what I found:
1. When you have a Writer document open and you select the Tools :: Customize, these two options appear under Format.
2. When you have a Calc document open, neither of these options appear.
So, if appears that NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code only provides these options when for Writer documents. 
I found that this limitation occurs in all versions of OpenOffice.org from version 2.2.1 (the version that NeoOffice uses) through their latest 3.0 Beta.
Unfortunately, our limited developer resources and funding limits the current scope of the NeoOffice project to keeping a native version of OpenOffice.org running on Mac OS X and fixing OpenOffice.org feature bugs is outside that scope.
You can file a bug in the OpenOffice.org issue tracker to get it on the radar of the core OpenOffice.org developers and if they include your requested feature in OpenOffice.org, the new behavior will get included in a future release of NeoOffice:

Note : our advice is to not mention NeoOffice as mentioning NeoOffice might cause OOo volunteers to preemptively close it without actually reviewing your bug. |

[Cross-posted with Patrick who is (of course) right. These options are available within Writer but not Calc]
If I select Tools>Customise and then choose the Toolbars tab and then select Formatting from the Toolbar drop-down Increase Font and Decrease Font are there if I scroll down the Commands list. If they are not in your Formatting toolbar then you can click the Add button and in the Add Commands window choose the Format category and then scroll down in the Commands column to find them and add them. Then you can set up a shortcut as described above. |

Sorry, I should have specified that I tried it in Impress. Thanks for your research and prompt answer. In the future, I will try to save you some work by trying it out in OpenOffice and only if something works there but not in NeoOffice will I post a query to the NeoOffice forums. That is, if I find that the responses are faster and more helpful on the NeoOffice forum, I might still seek your help for problems I can't solve in neither NeoOffice nor OpenOffice. javascript:emoticon(' ')
In this context, I tried to set a shortcut to "Increase Font Size" within Write, but make it valid for all of NeoOffice, but it didn't have any effect in Impress. Doesn't the tick besides "NeoOffice" mean that any shortcuts I assign should work in all NeoOffice programs? I'd like this as a default for most shortcuts as they are difficult to remember anyway, so having different shortcuts for different applications confuses the hell out of me.
