count characters without spaces

Hello,

I write for a a magazine which requires articles to be 3500 characters long without spaces. Therefore including a character count without the spaces in Neoffoce would be helpful, or is there a way to count this now?

You can get the word/character count up in a message box by going to Tools::Word Count, so you can assign a key combo to that (I've used command-shift-w) to pop it up as you go along, and then just hit return to close it again. Go to Tools::Customise, then the Keyboard tab, then assign from

Function: Word Count

I believe there's some work going on to make a live word/character count available in the status bar, but don't hold your breath...
