I have developed some applications using windows xp version 2.4 and v3 and one of the databases opens in neo office but the other one does not. They both open in Open Office v3 on the Mac.

The one that does not open displays an application type - none of which are Neo Office Base.

Are both of the files .odb files? Or does the file names end with some other extension in their names? NeoOffice 2.2.5 is based on the older OpenOffice.org 2.2.1 code so if both of the files have .odb extensions in their name, is it possible that you have some objects in your database that are only supported by OpenOffice.org 2.4 or later?

I have bad news. I am able to reproduce this by creating a new, empty .odb file in either OpenOffice.org 3.0 or NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access, closing the .odb file, and then trying to open it in NeoOffice 2.2.5. Apparently, OpenOffice.org changed the .odb file format after their OpenOffice.org 2.2.1 release so any .odb files created with OpenOffice.org 2.4 or later or NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access are incompatible with OpenOffice.org 2.2.1 and NeoOffice 2.2.5.

Many thanks for your prompt help in this matter. At least I now know what to do in order to develop in neo office.
