Is anyone else seeing this? I've seen it on two machines but do not know if it is PPC only or when it was introduced. PPC 10.4.11:

  1. Launch Neo 3.0 Patch 4
  2. Wait for new document window to open
  3. Use mouse to go up to "style" combo box in toolbar, lists "Default" initially
  4. Using mouse, click left of the "t" and drag left of "D" to highlight entire contents
  5. Note: trailling "t" disappears, highlighted text reverts to "Defaul"
  6. Hit "Delete" key; Note: "t" reappears and was not deleted

To remove the last "t", the "forward delete" ("X" with arrow, underneath "help" key on extended keyboard) is required.

Another potential manifestation:

  1. Open new Writer document
  2. Tools > Insert > Table
  3. In resulting dialog, use "Tab" to advance through edit fields

Results: Numerical entry in Columns/Rows edit fields disappears when tabbing through dialog

Expected: Numerical text display should continue regardless of which field has focus.

This behaviour appeared in either Patch 3 or Patch 4; I am not sure in which patch it was introduced. Patch 2 works as expected.

Can anyone else confirm either 10.5 or Intel for these cases?

I have opened bug 3495 to track this issue. When there is status to report from the bug, it will be posted here.

Update: This is not present in Patch 3 - TP 1; it seems to appear only in P4.

I found the cause of this bug and it is a side effect of my fix for bug 3478.

I have reworked my fix for bug 3478 and I am testing it to make sure that bug 3478 and related bugs don't come back. Once I finish my testing, I should have a test patch out by this Sunday.

FYI: Patrick found this is the same bug as the one in this forum topic.

The bug I opened in this forum has been closed as a duplicate of bug 3494.

I think that I have fixed this bug. Can you install the following test patch and tell us if the bug is fixed for you?:

Intel:
http://joe.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-3.0-Patch-4-Test-2-Intel.dmg
http://joe.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.2.5-Patch-12-Test-2-Intel.dmg

PowerPC:

http://joe.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.2.5-Patch-12-Test-2-PowerPC.dmg

Edit: added NeoOffice 2.2.5 test patch links

Patrick

Now, this is getting scary. Patrick fixed my bug before I even told him about it. Smile

FYI, I was having a similar problem with dialogs in Calc, but the test patch fixed it. Thanks.
