I was using 3.1.2 but 3.2.1 shows the same behaviour. When I open NeoOffice almost any action causes the application to freeze. For example I just opened it and selected open from the file menu, no open dialog has appeared and it is frozen.
Any suggestions on what might be going wrong? Do I need to clear a cache or something?
The only thing I have noticed in Console is:

I cannot reproduce the hanging that you are seeing on my Mac OS X 10.7 Lion machine so I suspect that there is something unique on your system that is triggering this behavior.
To help us get an idea of where the hanging is occurring in NeoOffice, can you launch NeoOffice 3.2.1, get NeoOffice to hang, and while it is hanging, obtain and save a sample of the NeoOffice application's state, and attach the sample? This will hopefully give us some ideas as to where to look next for the cause of the hanging.

One more question: are you trying to open a .docx document? If so, can you install the following NeoOffice 3.2.1 test patch before you obtain a sample? We found a bug in NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 code that causes crashing when you open certain .docx documents and if you are opening a .docx document, this test patch may have a fix for the bug that you are seeing:

Sorry I've been slow getting back to you. It may be that there is a docx file automatically being reopened when I start the app. I shall try the patch.

FYI. We released NeoOffice 3.2.1 Patch 1 today so instead of installing the test patch, please install Patch 1. You can download the patch from the NeoOffice 3.2.1 patch download page.
