29.10.2005
Dear OpenOffice Users
We have successfully accomplished installation of OpenOffice.org 2.0 on
Tiger 10.4.2 Mac OS X (without the slightest problem). Now we choose to
add to the few existing fonts available.
We do have access to an XP machine that can supply the truetype fonts.
However, from all the many researches to date . . we are unable to locate
the exact destination folder(s) mentioned in the existing trinity posts and
on our OS X Tiger(s).
OpenOffice.org 2.0 have we placed in the applications folder.
No other folders have any apparent content to do with OpenOffice.org 2.0.
Just OpenOffice.org 2.0.app. Spotlight reveals nothing more, either.
How are we to locate these mentioned destination folder(s) for the
truetype fonts install (copy) or does OpenOffice.org 2.0.app have
more OS X consistency .. meaning that the mentioned folders are
no longer specifically necessary and we are able to use already
(automatically) establised (font) folders or specific folders of our
choosing and naming.
We are able to locate an empty and existing font folder : (user)/Library/Fonts .
And we are able to locate an existing font folder : Macintosh HD/Library/Fonts .
And few others which are evidently OS X system font repositories.
Whatever .. we would be grateful for any information that you may be able
to provide that can help to deliver us to the determined outcome.
Hopefully, our enquiry is one of simple formality and just a matter of
our OS X Tiger unfamiliarity and all-round newness of these developments.
Yours Sincerely
and thank you

Ctrl-click on the OpenOffice.org2.0.app and select "Show Package Contents". Then navigate to Contents/openoffice.org2.0/share/fonts/truetype, which is where the fonts go.
In theory the start-up font conversion script should copy the Windows TTFs if you put them in one of the standard Mac OS X fonts folders, but in practice that script does not do a lot of things that it should do.

Perfectly fine solution, thank you. Easy instructions .. easy to implement.
Fully operational without error(s) or delay. Done well .. well done.
Document sharing between (from) OpenOffice.org 1.9x on XP windows machine
and (to) OpenOffice.org 2.0 Tiger OS X machine is confirmed operational and
meeting expectations satisfactorily. OpenOffice is a substantial and worthy
credit to the open source software user community. Thank you everyone.
Yours most appreciatively
