For the longest time, Freshmeat was one of the most "well-behaved" of the update sites we pushed updates to.
Today it has gotten on my last nerve! It has this "very helpful" validity check that it performs before letting you submit an update, ensuring your email address is correct and all of your project URLs are correct.
Given the tendancy for people to try and kill the NeoOffice.org email server, I've been constantly switching the email address listed so I can push an update. Today, in addition to that, it was complaining that Bugzilla and the CVSWeb urls were bad. BZ was down at some point, but had been back for a while by the time I finally gave up and submitted the update with no URLs, but CVSWeb was live the entire time. Grr!
Fix your stupid "helpful" validity checks, Freshmeat!

Dear freshmeat,
The world is not you and some of us don't want to sell our souls to sourceforge. No one cares about your slashdot content block to tell the world that tic tac toe with daleks is now at version 0.613b712 release 5. Your reliability checks exist to artifically inflate the prestige of affiliated enterprises. Thankfully we always have CollabNet and savannah to save us from your predatory practices. I wish you the best in your newfound corporate venture in destroying what was once a great community.
