Please don't post the obvious. Ed is bent on all companies being evil. If Ed ever accepted that Apple did a good thing for developers, like GIVING them the iMac, his head would implode.

Nice thought. My thoughts are coming from my *lawyer's* interpretation of the messages sent out to DTS owners. The interpretation of *free* is dependent on the fine print.
Since you had the balls to post as an unregistered user, I offer you the opportunity to show your balls and dispute my own company's laywers' interpretation of the offer sent out to DTS owners.
The hardware exchange is free.
The original contract terms that require return of the hardware by the end of 2006 calendar year still apply.
If you desire, I can get your lawyers in touch with my company's lawyers and they can duke it out themselves.
Note that, assclown, if you are an official representative of Apple, your claims have a very substantial and non-trivial effect upon the bottom line of many a company. The original DTS hardware was offered under lease terms. If the interpretation of the "free" exchange program offers permanent ownership instead of lease ownership, then unfortunately instead of deducting lease costs in a single tax year the costs of the DTS program, as conferring physical ownership of property, must fall under depreciation laws and cannot be entirely deducted during the tax year in question but must be spread out at the government determined precentages.
Single-year writeoffs are much more profitable than depreciation. By maintaining the lease interpretation of the DTS agreement Apple has saved companies thousands of dollars owed to the US Govt.
Uninformed troll, go whine to your corporate overlords. Apple's given incorporated companies with multiple systems a huge break under US tax law by contracting under lease terms instead of ownership terms.
Before you decide to eat my ass, go research the facts you dweeb.

Ed, I hate to do this, but please keep things civil. The poster was using a smiley and not hell-bent on offending you. Relax . _________________ "What do you think of Western Civilization?"
