So I thought that I'd give a quick update on where I am with NeoOffice 2.0 before I leave for vacation (yes, I going on vacation for a few weeks for an early celebration of my 40th birthday). As of now, the NeoOffice HEAD branch will build all the way through. It uses OOo 2.0.1 and all of my vcl code has been upgraded so it installs, starts up, prints, etc.
There are a few bugs here and there (e.g. closing the last window doesn't quite work right) but they are most likely due to incorrectly merging my NeoOffice 1.2 code with the OOo 2.0.1 code. Also, I got the NeoOffice installer to work but only one huge NeoOffice installer is built. I still need to break up the installation into separate language pack and help installers.
All in all, things look pretty good and it appears that I am on target to release a NeoOffice 2.0 Alpha for PowerPC with whatever the latest OOo 2.0.x is in early April.

I "third" everything...have a wonderful birthday and the well-deserved vacation!
And WOW! I didn't expect you'd have an "internal alpha" ready this quickly. That's amazing. See above about the well-deserved vacation

Patrick. Happy birthday, and I may add some wishes as: "Gesundheit Glück, gods blessings (excuse my mixed german-english", lots of ideas and the power to bring them to live, and any good thing you might wish for yourself. So you are a 66er ... well, been a good year . Have a good time in vacations and keep em free of works thougths (perhaps you even forget NEO for the free time:D).
AND
Congrats to the 2.0.x achievements!

Very true, but remember this is an alpha build. The final may very well wait until Xmas..
Best wishes,

2.0.2 rc 1 is out. And I will work with it while you are on vacation.
BTW, the job hunt is fantastic, and I hope your vacation is just as good.
And I'm only six years older than you?

Patrick needs this break and needs to mourn at the loss of his youth
Seriously, folks Patrick has been wonderful to work with on this project, and yes, we've had our rough times, but it all worked out in the end.
See you when you get back Patrick (and don't do anything that I would not do, and that leaves a great deal of leeway.)

While everyone's dropping by to congratulate Patrick on well-deserved accomplishments, I'll take the opportunity to hijack this thread just slightly and encourage folks to see if they can't spare a few cycles once a week or so to look in on Bugzilla, particularly while Patrick is gone. So far the bug reports from 1.2 final have been pretty manageable, but we do have a backlog of older bugs that need to be "cleaned up".
For those willing to do so, I'll point again to the part of the Bugzilla Guide intended for triagers...and extend my thanks
Now back to your regularly-scheduled best wishes for Patrick
