|
Hi,
I am new on neooffice. It looks like great! But is not possible to realise validation with lists?? Under validity I can only see numbers, time, date etc.
I'd appreciate any suggestion or help.
Thx in advice. |

This term is unknown to me. Can you explain what you are asking for?

With Excel you can validate cells, this allows you to choose cell values from a cell dropdown list. And you cannot select any other value for this cell. This list is any range in your worksheet you select while validating.
Excel: Data -> Validation -> Allow: List -> Select source (range)
Neooffice (Spreadsheet) -> Data -> Validity -> Allow: "there is no list option!!"
I hope you understand and can help me.
Thx in advice. |

Now I understand. What you want is a dropdown list of values that is created from other cells on the same workbook, maybe a the same or a different sheet. I will check if this is available in OpenOffice, as that would be the source of this functionality. If it does not exist, I will check through the IssueZilla to see if this was requested and if so I will add one more requester to the issue. If an issue does not exist, I will open one.

Hi again,
I already checked and OpenOffice has this validation function. What do you think how long does it take to evaluate those issues??
Thx. |

The ability to validate input by matching a list of cells was added for OpenOffice.org 2.0. This feature is unavailable to OpenOffice.org 1.x and, by extension, NeoOffice 1.x. If you require list input validation, you will need to use OpenOffice.org 2.x X11 for the time being.
