If you close all NeoOffice documents, menu bar on top of the screen shows just an item NeoOffice and that's fine.
If you click there you can open a text document, a calc, and so on
In my opinion what is miss is the possibility to open recent documents.
Do you think it would be usefull? I will appreciate it a lot.
Those menus are provided by the OpenOffice.org QuickStarter service (which, AFAIK, is implemented in OOo-Windows and in NeoOffice only, not on any other platforms, but it's implemented very differently in Neo than in Windows, of course), so you need to file a bug in the OOo IssueZilla against the QuickStart Service for that request, if the bug's not already filed.
(Note that it may get WONTFIXed because people will be analyzing it based on whether it makes sense for Windows--because in the mind of the OOo people, only Windows uses the QuickStarter service--not whether it makes sense to add that ability to the service and let each implementor decide whether to expose it.)

Well, the Quickstart service also exists for KDE and Gnome under Linux.
The packages are named ooqstart-gnome and oooqs-kde on Ubuntu and I think Debian also.
