Are we having a competition who can find the most outrageous piece of FUD? If so I'm in with

No comments please, just Laugh at the foolishness. |

So far, it's better than the usual drivel, which surprises me. It's still /. of course

Well, really it's just the standard "RTFA" counter-argument.
So some douche wants to not RTFA and make a big stink about how the "people" should organize and provide downloads of something that will be freely available to the world in two weeks.
If this person or any other clown wants two weeks of "fame" of taking away donations to a free software project, so be it. I hope their strategy continues to be successful when Sun pulls the hundrends of millions of dollars spent on development of OOo.
Granted, any torrent hoster will have their few weeks of fame among the Mac pirate community. Give it a few weeks and then it'll be over since, at the end of the monh long EAP, there's no longer any logical reason for them to exist.
And don't try pull the "what about the starving people" angle. Due to purchase and licensing costs of OSX they aren't going to be using macs in the first place.
Godspeed sleazebag torrenters. Those downloading such a torrent are merely freeloadres and would never have probably donated to us in the first place. Let guilt be upon both you and them. (along with a plague of locusts and perhaps your brita filtered water turned into blood).

Hmm... I just don't have the emotional stamina for all this, I'm getting out of the /. again. There's a thin line between righteous and self-righteous and it's hard to tell when I've crossed it! It's good that there seem to be plenty of folk willing to generate antifud over there too.

I do like /. and usually each day find at least one news story that's interesting to me. I tend to no longer pay attention to the comments since, for the most part, they're pretty predictable on /. Call me a holdout, but I still haven't succumbed to the "true way" of digg or boingboing. It's not /. that's the problem, it's the slashbots
