I was just thinking that it would be nice if Neo/J didn't quit when the last window is closed. I know someone posted a clever workaround that involved keeping a minimized window in the Dock, but that's obviously not the best solution.
I was just thinking of Firefox and their hidden "master window." They do a really good job of hiding this--the easiest way to see it is to use Exposé while Firefox (or Mozilla or Camino(?)) is running. Could this approach be used to keep Neo/J from quitting? I suppose it's not quite the same since Neo/J's menus are permanently attached to each document window, but perhaps this might still be a workable solution. Maybe when all windows are closed but Neo/J is still running, the user should be able to open a new document by clicking the app icon in the dock. |
