|
I think that there is a portable version (can be put on a jumpdrive) of OpenOffice, but it needs that "something" 11 plugin. I know nothing of programming, and I am HUGELY appreciative of the hard work being done to make NeoOffice (which I now use exclusively). How hard would it be to make a portable version of NeoOffice, so I could take it with me? |

You can just move the NeoOffice application from the /Appications folder and move it to your portable drive and run NeoOffice from your portable drive.
This won't copy your user preferences, but for most users very little data is stored in their users preferences. If you also want to move your preferences to your portable drive, you need to do the following steps:
1. Move your ~/Library/Preferences/NeoOffice-2.x folder to your portable drive
2.On each machine that you use NeoOffice, use the Finder to make an alias to the NeoOffice-2.x folder on your portable drive and name that alias ~/Library/Preferences/NeoOffice-2.x so that NeoOffice will follow the alias to your portable drive.
