|
On the Windows or Linux versions, as far as I remember, each OpenOffice app has a separate executable, I am sure it's a single file due the to porting via Java meaning the only way to have separate files would be 5x100mb app bundles - which would be silly.
Anyway what about a launcher app, say similar to MS Office but where you choose the app you wish to launch when clicking NeoOffice, rather than getting a text document by default?
Just an idea to make NeoOffice more user friendly and similar to other office apps, so as not a alienate users and also add a bit of polish to NeoOffice, |

I mean integrated into NeoOffice so when you click NeoOffice you get a choice of app, and maybe an official set of dummy launcher app files. |

Even on the Windows and Linux versions, there is only one executable (if there were separate executables, you could download each component separately, which is not the case). However, the Win/Linux versions can be launched directly in the desired component.

Jake's launcher is at an early stage of development. It may become more integrated in the future. |

hmm. perhaps i could work some additional applescript voodoo...
if the launcher were to open neo in the background as it opened, that could cut down the time to launch what you want...
*thinking* |

well, if i did add that it would start neooffice. but 'in the background' means not 'behind the scenes' but 'behind the launcher'.
so if you have a new computer, it wouldn't be too bad, but us on slower machines... |

You can lauch it windowless with the terminal script and then once in the Dock right click on its Neo Dock icon.
Or just put the Neo component stub apps icons for Writer and Calc or whatever other Neo component you commonly use in the Dock full time. |
