Help! Where do I go to ask ordinary dumb user questions about Neooffice? My problem is Neooffice won't seem to print in landscape mode. I go to File-Printer settings and ask for landscape but it doesn't work. If I go back to File-Printer settings landscape has turned back to portrait.
Creating and Applying Page Styles
NeoOffice/J uses page styles to specify the layout of a page, including the page orientation, background, margins, headers, footers, and text columns. To change the layout of an individual page in a document, you must create and apply a custom page style to the page.
To define a new page style:
1.Choose Format - Styles - Catalog.
2.Select Page Styles in the list at the top.
3.Click New.
4.On the Organizer tab, type a name in the Name box.
5.Do one of the following:
To apply the custom page style to a single page, select the default page style that is used in your document in the Next Style box.
To apply the custom page style to more than one page, select its name in the Next Style box. To stop using the style, insert a manual page break and assign it a different page style.
6.Use the tabs in the dialog to set the layout options for the page style, and then click OK.
To apply a page style:
1.Click in the page that you want to apply the page style to.
2.Choose Format - Stylist, and then click the Page Style icon.
3.Double-click a name in the list.
To apply a page style to a new page:
1.Click in the document where you want a new page to start.
2.Choose Insert - Manual Break.
3.Select Page break.
4.In the Style box, select the page style that you want to apply to the page that follows the manual break.
5.Click OK.

You don't absolutely have to use page styles, unless you only want some pages in a document to be landscape. You can go to Format>Page and work your way through the various tabs for the settings you need.

Moved to NeoOffice Support.
As Lorinda pointed out, you need to set the paper orientation in the Format > Page menu. It's also worth noting that the printer settings accessible from the File menu actually do nothing. The menu was mapped to the native printer settings dialog (maybe when NeoOffice got the native Print dialog) but the actual settings sent to the printer are those specified in the Format > Page dialog.
