I added this note to the Why does NeoOffice 1.2.x “hang†part-way through startup? section in the English wiki:
Note also that every major update to OSX will automatically reenable all your disabled fonts, so in Font Book, it's worth setting up a new 'keep disabled' collection and adding to it all the fonts you want to keep disabled - then after you update OSX, you can simply select all the fonts in the 'keep disabled' collection and disable them all at once.
I'm not sure if this is the best place for this note, or whether it's clear enough. There may be other places in the wiki where this tip is more relevant, especially for people having more general font issues.
