|
I was working through the steps for installing the Pagination extension when I ran into a glitch on my machine.
When I went to Tools>Extension Manager and clicked on the disclosure triangle by "My Extensions," I got a warning that a different uno package file (from Oxygen Office Professional) did not exist.
The disclosure triangle disappeared, but nothing is shown in "My extensions."
The Paginator extension appeared to install correctly, but I cannot access it from Tools>Macros>Run macros.
I'm assuming this is related to the error message. But I can't figure out how to clear this error.
I suppose trashing my preferences, using the all-too-familiar (to me) process for restoring settings and reinstalling the extensions might work. Does anyone know a less painful method?
This is, admittedly, probably my own fault. Chances are I messed with the contents of the uno_packages folder when I should not have. Sigh.

Uh Oh! I hope I was not the contributing factor to this situation. I had no such thing occur on my two machines. Hmmm.... |

My experience is that the uno_packages folder is very, very fussy. If any updates fail (or NeoOffice crashes during an update), you can end up with a horked folder.

Not at all! The problematic file is completely unrelated to the Pagination extension.
uno_packages is a folder in the NeoOffice preferences folder that stores installed extensions. |

Well I tried simply removing the uno_packages folder from the preferences folder.
That did the trick. The only extensions that I was really troubled about were the ones related to templates from OxygenOffice Professional. That's probably where my trouble started, because there were two extensions and ages ago I reorganized the templates. I must have then deleted one of the folders as well.
I just moved all the template folders that I had created when reorganzing to my templates folder in preferences, and that seems to have worked fine.
I lost the OxygenOffice Professional clip-art galleries, but I can always reinstall those later if I decide I want the back.
