What I find interesting is that Sun Microsystems' OpenOffice.org engineers do not plan on including these in the OpenOffice.org 3.0 installation. This is very odd as these "power tools" are built as part of the OpenOffice.org 3.0 build.
While I cannot guess why they want users to do a separate download and install for these extensions, Ed and I plan on including them in NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access. No extra download will be needed.

This is great news for all NeoOffice Users . BTW Patrick, if I add the Sun templates packs via Extensions Manager, the templates are placed in the appropriate folders in Library/Preference/NeoOffice-2.2/user/template/, but they do not appear when I call up File > New > Templates and Documents. I can't work put why that should be, given they are otp files, and can be opened individually by NeoOffice. Am I missing something?

The OpenOffice.org extensions only work with OpenOffice.org 3.0 or higher. NeoOffice 2.2.5 is based on OpenOffice.org 2.2.1 and the extensions are not compatible.

actually, it seems even more complicated than that: I realised today that I was looking for the wrong titles [lyt-bluecircles becomes Blue Circles]. Now it seems that, if you use extension manager to load it (?package manager in 3.0), some of the templates are available, in NeoOffice 2.2.5 and also OOo Mac Beta 3.0. And they are quite attractive too eg aquarell presentation background.
