Ordinarily the new version of NeoOffice will install over top of an old version. However, if you have moved or renamed your existing copy of NeoOffice, you should usually remove it after installing the latest version, as things like Spotlight and Quick Look don't like it when there are two copies of the same importer/plug-in and you'll get unpredictable results.

Patrick has changed our build and installation procedure to ensure that the QuickLook and Spotlight plugins we include do not conflict from patch to patch and version to version. I do not know what major version from which we started that, but I want to say 2.2.4.
