It's all gone wrong - outline (i.e. bullet/number) entries that run onto more than one line cannot be made to line up with the first line, and there's all kinds of other weird and unpredictable goings-on. I know it wasn't great in v2.xx, but it's got a lot worse, I think.
You are not alone. It is one of the primary reasons that we set the revised NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access Program to last 2 1/2 months: OpenOffice.org 3.0 has a lot of small changes and unexpected changes are an annoyance until you get accustomed to them.
Unlike past OpenOffice.org upgrades in NeoOffice, we are taking this one much slower and leaving our last 2.2.x release available even after the NeoOffice 3.0 is available for free.
Yes, they've added a lot of great new functionality (especially things that you can find in MS Office that were missing in v2.x) but at the same time they seem to have buggered around with quite a lot of the existing modules that worked fine before (outlining, xml export...)
