When you hit insert page number; it inserts where cursor is... can it automatically insert into the footer where most put their page numbers... I know this is insignificant but something I was use to in word...
another small item. When you center text and then hit enter, you have to go up to top again and hit justify left to have text start from left margin rather than center. In word after entering to the next line you can just hit the back or delete key and it justifies left for that line. This may seem minor but the type of docs i write has text throughout that is center than the next line is left justified...
Hope this made sense...thanks for a great product...

The feature you describe is not available in NeoOffice. Unlike Microsoft Word, NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code does not make any assumptions like "page numbers only go in footers" and, instead, the OpenOffice.org code was written to insert an object wherever your cursor is. So, the bad news is that there is no workaround that I know of that will make NeoOffice act like Microsoft Word is this case and you can only insert something into a footer by placing the cursor there first/
Unfortunately, our very limited funding and developer resources limits the current scope of the NeoOffice project to keeping a native version of OpenOffice.org running on Mac OS X and changing the core features of OpenOffice.org is outside that scope.

I cannot reproduce this. When I create a new Writer document, highlight a line and set the line to centered, pressing the Return key makes the new line centered. What steps are you using to make a line centered? Are you different than mine?

to make a line of text centered I use the icons in the tool bar. when i hit enter after the text is still centered. My point was (an admittedly this is minor) in word or thinkfree you can just hit the back or delete key and it will make that second line left justified... In Neooffice to do that I can't use the keyboard. I have to go to the icons in toolbar and hit left justify. |

As an aside, I do not find this a big enough deal to go back to Microsoft, just wondering if it was possible. I am sticking with Neo, especially since I joined the early access program! |

Actually, you can do all that from the keyboard:
cmd-L - left
cmd-E - centred
cmd-R - right
cmd-J - full
...or you can change those shortcuts to something else you prefer.
Once you've typed your centred line of text, hit return, then cmd-j and the justification switches to full justifed, etc.
