|
I wrote a little text and I found that my sixth paragraph loses its style when I backspace anywhere in the document.
I am attaching the document. The loss of formatting shows up because it loses the whitespace between the sixth and seventh paragraph (look to the right of the box on the lower first page).
best wishes,

I don't see any change in style when I backspace. I tried backspacing in the fifth and sixth paragraphs and the inset box in the lower left corner of the first page does not change.
Does installing the latest test patch in bug 3418 change anything?

It is not the inset box that changes. It is the spacing between the paragraphs. Just type anywhere and then delete that again.
Code: | Algae grow in water, but this substitute raw material for biodiesel is still in the laboratory.
Hydrogen has been put forward as The Solution for all of these problems. |
The white space in between these sentences is disappearing for me.
I will try the test patch later today.
Best wishes,

Unfortunately the test patch does not help. I was able to reproduce the problem with the spacing disappearing between the paragraphs and I have the test patch installed.
I have some more bad news, this same behavior occurs in OpenOffice.org 3.0.1 (which NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access 2 is based on) so this is an OpenOffice.org bug and not a NeoOffice bug.
One bit of good news is that this does work properly in NeoOffice 2.2.5 so maybe you can use it for some of the editing.
Unfortunately, our very limited funding and developer resources limits the current scope of the NeoOffice project to keeping a native version of OpenOffice.org running on Mac OS X and fixing OpenOffice.org bugs is outside that scope.
You can file a bug in the OpenOffice.org issue tracker to get it on the radar of the core OpenOffice.org developers and if they fix the bug, the new behavior will get included in a future release of NeoOffice:
http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html
Note : our advice is to not mention NeoOffice as mentioning NeoOffice may cause OOo volunteers to accidentally close it without actually reviewing your bug.

Interesting, deleting anywhere within the document cause the paragraph that crosses the page to lose its 'Text body' style and change to 'Default' style. The only work around I can see is, as a last stage in editing, to go through and reset the style of offending paragraphs to 'Text body'. |

Which is what I did. The thing that really struck me is that it happens from anywhere..
Anyway, thank for reproducing. I will see if I can get an OOo bug open.
Best wishes,
