|
Title says it.
If I'm viewing a document in two windows, and I insert a note in one side, the content of the note is not displayed in the second window, although the note itself is shown. I first noticed when editing a .doc file, but it is also the case when I'm using an odt file. In the doc file I had another behavior that was disturbing though. The second window would jump to the position of the cursor in the first window when a note was inserted in the first window. Goes against the reason I had two windows open in the first place
I'm using 3.0 EA2 patch 1 on osx 10.5.6

Hmm odd. Do the other changes to things other than notes actually show up directly in the other windows? Off the top of my head I would think that if the same document is opened twice, the second copy would either be "read only" or would be a unique document if flipped into edit mode.
I've never tried doing that two window trick like that myself, so any background would be helpful Maybe it's now allowed now that OOo removed that lockfile that was always used in 2.x?

Yes the body text is updating on both sides no matter which window I enter it from. As you can see a note also appears on both sides when I initiate a note from either side, but the note text is only updated on the side that I initiated the note from. |

Wow, I didn't even know that worked properly to sync that up If that body text update is working I'll see if I can trace down where that is happening.

Not as far as I can see. It's "STARTED", and only targeted for OOo 3.2 |

Yeah, plus comments along the lines of "this mode was never speced, and I don't think it's commonly used...". Seems like syncing notes is just one of multiple issues with the two window view.

bug 1 found and fixed as well
remaining issue:
- ability to switch the notes off in window 1 -> notes in window 2 are still
visible but the the notes pane disappeared. |
