Just wanted to let folks know of a new technote Apple's put up that contains a number of the tricks I've used myself in the past. Great document for testers & developers to read up on in the name of getting more information then one can get from a crashlog:

Thanks for posting that - I discovered the TechNote the other day as well, and like you I had already been using a number of the techniques, but this is a great document that puts everything in one place - I went around and installed GuardMalloc on configurations where I hadn't already done so, and have been using GuardMalloc quite a bit lately (not that it has found anything for me yet ). I have a bunch of other memory related debugging tools that I use on various platforms - having some of the debugging facilities built into the OS helps with the average user.
I don't know if GuardMalloc is available outside of the Developer Tools (note, GuardMalloc seems to work fine on older systems as well).
