That may be a good suggestion. I think Scribus also has a Mac OS X version now, but I have never used it nor can recommend it. Once you start hitting lots of very high resolution images, you may run into some memory issues in Neo similar to Word. Neo/OOo really make an effort to keep embedded images at their full resolution, even if scaled. If you do start encountering a memory limit, what you'll see is that some images may not draw.
