Patch 7 is messing with certain common command-keys.
Normally in the U. S. keyboard layout, Command-B is "Bold" and Command-"I" is "Italic".
Command-C is "Copy" and Command-X is "Cut".
However, I use the Dvorak keyboard layout. Under Dvorak in Patch 7, Command-C italicizes a selection while Command-X bolds a selection! Command-C and Command-X don't do anything. I can't copy or cut using keyboard commands!
I have not made anything like an exhaustive examination of other commands and potential errors. I do not recall this behavior in previous patch versions but I have not tested that either.
I fear that Patch 7 has introduced some unfortunate mis-mapping of command keys that will also affect other language keyboard layouts.
Keyboard layouts are selected in the International panel in System Preferences. Note that I am using "Dvorak" and not "Dvorak-Qwerty".
Is this an OpenOffice, NeoOffice/J Patch 7, or Java on Mac OS X problem? I have never noticed it before and my other apps certainly do not behave this way. _________________ Wheat Williams
