Hyphenation in German with NO 3.0

Hi there,

I downloaded NO 3.0, installed on a Mac 10.5 Intel and I'm deeply impressed - great work.

BUT: Although I installed the German language-pack, activated the installed modules, set the preferences of NO and of my text to German, automatic hyphenation does not work at all. Spellcheck works, but not the hyphenation - what to do?

Just to check - did you just install the German Language Pack, or did you install the German Dictionary etc. too?

The Language Packs are only for the user interface (menus, help. messages etc.) - if you want German dictionary/thesaurus/hyphenation rules, you need to go to Tools::Language::More Dictionaries Online (oder so was auf Deutch Smile

) which will lead you to a web page from where you can download and install the German dictionary, thesaurus and hyphenation rules.

Thanks a lot and: maybe it would be helpful to stick this hint on the downloadpage for the language-package...

You have a point - at the moment, it reads:

"Language Pack Downloads

Please note that installing a language pack will not add spellchecking support for a language. To add spellchecking support for a language, launch NeoOffice and select the Tools :: Language :: More Dictionaries Online... menu."

It might be a good idea to change the last sentence to:

"To add spellchecking support for a language (and to add thesaurus and hyphenation support where available), launch NeoOffice and select the Tools :: Language :: More Dictionaries Online... menu."
