This is a very small item, but in a future patch is there any way you could add persistence of the size and location of the Media Browser (Tools->Add-Ons->Show Media Browser)? Currently, if one readjusts its size and location, those revisions persist as long as NeoO is open, but are lost when you quit and later relaunch the app. BTW, I really like the Media Browser; very useful.
The Media Browser in NeoOffice uses software from another open source project, Karelia's iMedia Browser. This is where the functionality you are requesting would have to come from.
Unfortunately, our very limited funding and developer resources limits the current scope of the NeoOffice project to keeping a native version of OpenOffice.org running on Mac OS X and implementing new features in third-party software is outside that scope.
Since NeoOffice 3.0 is a major release, Patrick and Ed are spending all of their limited development time fixing critical hanging and crashing bugs as well as investigating bug reports from users.
I do not know if Karelia has a mechanism for collecting new feature requests, but if they do implement your feature request, the new behavior may get included in a future release of NeoOffice.
I have good news! As a result of some work Ed and I did in this forum topic, I was able to add the following two small features from the NeoOffice Mobile code to the Media Browser:
- The Media Browser opens automatically when you launch NeoOffice if you had the Media Browser open when you last quit NeoOffice
- The Media Browser will open at the same location as the location that you last had the Media Browser open at
Edit: I forgot to mention that since Media Browser can now open automatically, I removed the Media Browser toolbar in the test patch to reduce the number of windows from displaying
You can try out these new features by installing the following test patch:
After posting the test patches yesterday, I realized that I did not implement opening the Media Browser with the same width and height as the last time it was open so I implemented that missing feature and I have uploaded the following test patch:
