I leave in an hour or so for a church conference, so I won't be around until Monday. (Might check in briefly if one of my parents brings their laptop, but I'm leaving mine at home for my husband and kids to play with.)
Whatever your religious persuasion (or lack thereof), I would appreciate prayers/good thoughts that we might:
-listen to each other and to our God more than we talk
-speak the truth in love instead of seeking to triumph over our "opponents" in the church
-see ourselves as sisters and brothers
-speak and act in ways that are consistent with what we say believe
-bear witness to what unites us, not just what divides us
I love Annual Conference, but it can have its dark sides, too. And for some reason I am more apprehensive about that dark side this year than usual.
