I would delete it and the preferences and download directly from NeoOffice site. also make sure that you have the appropriate ppc or intel version dmg too. |

Hi Jenny,
The most important thing is to make sure you download the correct version. Most Mac applications are what is known as a "Universal Binary" - meaning that the same application will work on all kinds of Mac, but because NeoOffice is such a large application, it comes in two separate flavours: for PowerPC and Intel processors.
To find out what kind of processor your Mac has, click on the Apple menu and select "About this Mac". Then make sure you have the right version of NeoOffice: select the NeoOffice icon in the Finder and choose the menu option File > Get Info. In the General section, note the "Kind" of the NeoOffice application.
Let us know how you get on. |

If the installer successfully installed NeoOffice, K9's and djpimley's recommendation are not applicable. If you downloaded for the wrong platform, the installer would fail immediately.
Your problem is most likely that you did not install the latest patch. There are 3 warning in bright yellow throughout the download pages and without that patch, NeoOffice will absolutely not run on Mac OS X Snow Leopard. So, if you have a new Mac machine (or upgraded to Snow Leopard), install the patch from the NeoOffice patch download page.

Thanks Patrick. I did not know that about Snow Leopard. I am still in 10.4.11. Good to know for future replies. |

If you are running Mac OS X Snow Leopard, I would definitely recommend upgrading to NeoOffice 3.0.1 Early Access plus Patch 2. That version contains the Snow Leopard fixes in NeoOffice 3.0 Patch 7 that you installed plus fixes for several more Snow Leopard bugs that have been found in the last month.
You can download the NeoOffice 3.0.1 Early Access release from the NeoOffice Early Access Program download page.
