I am an old word perfect user, so bear with me.

I have a footer on every page with my address on it. On a document that is 12 pages long, I need to set the bottom margin at .45 inches. When I use edit, "select all" and then format the page, it does not change the bottom margin on every page and properly move the footer up to the .45 mark. How do I set all the pages at once. It is laborious to set the bottom margin on every page for every document.

Also, Is there a way to set the margins so that when I change the margins on one page, it will change the margins from that line onward?

To set the margins for an entire document, select the Format :: Page menu. In the dialog that appears, click on the Page tab, change the margin fields, and press the OK button.

Do the above steps work for you?

Hi Patrick, thanks for the reply. However, doing this only changes the margins for the page tha I am on, even when I try Edit, Select all and then use the format page window. It is frustrating to have to individually modify every page of a 12 to 40 page report. Word Perfect made it really easy.

Patrick,

This problems only comes up when I have a footer that appears on every page. On documents with no footer, the page margin tab does fix the problem.

I can reproduce the behavior that you describe. I created a new Writer document, inserted a few page breaks, and then turned on footers for all pages by selecting the Insert :: Footer :: Default menu. Then, when I put the cursor in the first page and followed the steps for changing the margins in my previous post, the margins changed for all pages.

So, I suspect that there you have some special settings in your document that is making each page have separate paper settings. Can you attach a sample document that we can look at? You can attach a sample document using the steps in this post.
