So now we have iWork on the iPad. When can we expect NeoOffice Mobile and NeoOffice on the iPad too?

Well, a full NeoOffice probably wouldn't be able to happen...since OOo/Neo exist by porting a desktop oriented "framework" it's hard to support it for a device that has such a radically different operational environment. I'm actually impressed at the work on the iPad iWork I've seen. Seems to me like that was much more work than the $10 per app price tag...
NeoOffice Mobile on the iPad however, well, I've got some ideas in my head, kind of a mixture of personal NM usage with some enhanced native iPhone interfaces and academic collaboration. Still hashing out the details, so who knows. Maybe there is something there but I'm still not solid on the right way to get to what I see in my drunken head

Ed, just yesterday I was thinking there's an angle for delivering NeoOffice Mobile documents to an iPad for approval and proofing processes, where a final approver can then sign-off the final draft with some form of digital signature.
Oh, and my vote is for Neo-Ooo (Out of office.) |

I think you may already be able to do this in NeoOffice Mobile. First, you share your documents with another person. When review or approval is needed, the the user (or users) that you share with can add review comments for any shared file from the iPhone or iPad's Safari web browser.
Since NeoOffice Mobile can download PDF (and displays PDF by default on the iPhone), the users that you share with can view the "print ready" PDF version of your document by logging into NeoOffice Mobile's website from a web browser even if that web browser is Safari on an iPhone or iPad. |

I probably was not clear that when I say that you may already be able to this in NeoOffice Mobile, I was talking only about reviewing and approving a document.
The part that we cannot do now is allow the reviewer to mark notes or highlights on the PDF. Maybe Ed's ideas might cover that missing piece?
