After installing the latest Mac OS X 10.7 developer preview release that Apple released earlier this month, I found a bug in the Mac OS X 10.7 scrollbars. This bug only occurs when you have a very long document open and the scrollbar "thumb" is very short. In such cases, Mac OS X will return incorrect bounds information when NeoOffice queries the position and size of the scrollbar thumb. As a result of this incorrect bounds information, mouse events in the scrollbar will behave as if the scrollbar thumb is in a different position than the position that appears on screen.
While this is definitely a Mac OS X 10.7 bug (and it affects OpenOffice.org, LibreOffice, and likely other applications), we have added a fix for this Mac OS X 10.7 bug in the following test patch.
Can anyone who is running the Mac OS X 10.7 developer preview confirm that this test patch fixes this bug?:
Yes, I can confirm based on tests on initial documents that this does fix it. Thank you much. I will keep using large documents over the next few days and let you know if any problems arise. It really only occurred in very large documents of about 60 or 70 pages or more.
