Earlier this week, I "opened" a spreadsheet from Google Docs via NeoOffice Mobile, made some changes, and hit the "Save" button in NeoOffice Mobile.
I discovered today that, instead of saving a new version of the file I "opened", I had ended up with a new copy of the file (with the exact same name) and the original file was untouched.
Since neomobile.neooffice.org updates the original file (although it does provide access to past versions), I had expected the Google Docs integration to behave the same way (except, perhaps, not having integration with the Google Docs "revision history" feature).
Is creating an entirely new document a bug, or is this the way the Google Docs API works?

I can confirm that this is definitely a new bug as it occurs in the latest test patch but not in an unpatched version of NeoOffice. Since both are connecting to the same NeoOffice Mobile servers, that makes me conclude the bug must be in the NeoOffice test patch code.
I will post a new test patch once I track down how what is causing this bug.
I have an update: it is not a bug. I had forgotten unlike regular NeoOffice Mobile documents or Mac OS X folders, Google Docs has an unusual feature that allows you to have more than one document with the same name.
To support this feature, there are some subtly different steps that are required to overwrite an existing Google Docs document: you must select the existing document in NeoOffice Mobile's Google Docs document list. If you select an existing Google Docs document and the filename in the "Save as" field and type of document match the selected existing document, then NeoOffice Mobile will tell Google Docs to overwrite the exsting file.
If you do not select an existing document or the document's filename or type do not match the selected document, then the document will be uploaded as a new Google Docs document.
I hope that clarifies how the Google Docs upload process works.

Thanks for the clarification of the way Google Docs works; I'll check out that behavior a bit later
(Also, for any wiki-elves reading, it might be useful to have a small page on NeoOffice Mobile "hints", and this would make a good addition. It's on my to-do list, but rather far down right now…)
