After installing the latest version of Oracle's JDK 17, we found that we could no longer use Oracle's JDK 17 within NeoOffice. Fortunately, the LibreOffice engineers have already fixed this bug so we have backported their fix.
This bug was due to a bug in the code that parses the Java version string. This parsing bug occurs when the Java version has 4 dot-separated numbers, such as 17.0.4.1, instead of only 3 like most versions of Java.
You do not need to wait until the next NeoOffice release to get the fix. You can get the fix now by downloading and installing the following test patch:
Note: this bug only occurs in NeoOffice Professional Edition. The Mac App Store does not allow Java so there is no test patch for the Mac App Store version of NeoOffice.
