I'd like to check out NeoOffice/J, but my connection speed is slow. Is it available on CD anywhere?

Since we're not a company or anything we don't have any CD distros. Perhaps after it goes final someone may pick it up, but until then your best bet would be to try to find someone who has a fast connection to d/l and burn a CD for you.

Also note that you should be sure to get the latest "patch" installer in addition to the base dmg. The patch installers are smaller but are frequently released. The hope is that the smaller patches will make things easier for people with slow connections (and our own bandwidth too!)

Not officially, AFAIK. However, it frequently happens that people get a friend to burn it on CD. Such are the joys of free software and $1 CD-R.

And then download the latest smaller patches by themselves Smile.
