I am new to MAC, downloaded the latest version of NeoOffice and I get the following message (see below). I trashed the first download of Neo, updated my QT to latest version, restarted, but still get the following error message when I try to install the NeoOffice.
QuickTime cannot open the file: "NeoOfficeJ-1.1_Release_Candidat"
it is not a file that QuickTime understands (-2048)

You're having some type of problem extracting the dmg file. It's not a quicktime file at all.
What web browser are you trying to use to download the file? If you're on an older version of IE, for example, it may truncate the download name and remove the ".dmg" extension.
You also will need to be running Mac OS X 10.2 or higher to use NeoOffice/J.
