To the best of my knowledge, I have fixed the bugs in the "printtest7" patch that were reported in this forum and in our new bug tracking system.
Also, Dan Williams provided some really helpful tips that improved performance. Some documents like Jim Laurent's are still slower to edit than using OOo 1.0.3, but at least NeoJ is now much more responsive to mouse and key events.
So, I have uploaded a new patch with these fixes. Like previous patches, you can only install them in an existing NeoOffice/J 0.0.1 running on Mac OS X 10.2 using the following steps:
cd <NeoJ installation directory>/NeoOfficeJ.app
sudo tar zxvf <path to downloaded *.tar.gz file>
FYI. This is the patch that I am using for the NeoOffice/J 0.7 release. I probably won't post the 0.7 release until Friday or Saturday so if you find any bugs, please report them at http://bugzilla.neooffice.org. I can't promise that I will be able to include fixes for all bugs that you may find, but I will definitely fix any hangs or crashes.

Hi Patrick, a quick test run indicates that things are indeed considerably snappierâ„¢ than before, so well done!
I'm still having problems with my spreadsheet though, but I'm beginning to suspect that it is corrupted (as a result of my having to force quit the printing with printtest6 - or was it 5). I'll try to recreate it in a new document and test that before the weekend to see if that is indeed the problem, but I can't make any promises as I'm fairly busy right now.

I've managed to do some more testing:
1) The copy of my spreadsheet that you mailed back to me (thanks, btw) Patrick, prints as poorly as my local copy.
2) A newly created spreadsheet from copy/pasted data, and a newly created chart from that, prints excellently so it appears that the force quits I had to perform in printtest6 did corrupt the original. The print quality is actually pretty darned good now.
3) However, I still get blocky/pixelated printouts of images inserted from a file (.jpg or .tiff) in Writer documents - the same files print fine from Graphic Converter X v4.8.2, fwiw. Unfortunately, I don't have time to look into this any more thoroughly, sorry.
4) The very first appearance of a contextual menu in Calc still takes many seconds to occur. Subsequently, it is quite responsive. Things like screen redraws or chart redraws after editing a characteristic are still a bit on the sluggish side. Overall though, the app does feel quite a bit snappier than it did (but alas, not snappyâ„¢ )
