Just a brief note for folks who read the articles (they're the things in the "Home" link to the left). I enabled comments for Anonymous/unregistered users to leave feedback since some of the articles actually did become pseudo-forums in the past for good bug reporting feedback. After all, the forums are open for anonymous users, so the article comments should be too.
To offset this I also enabled the moderation system for registered users. It's similar to the /. system and similar to other nuke based sites. Registered users can choose a "moderation" point in the popup menu next to 'Reply To This' and then click the Moderate button at the bottom of all the comments.
Yeah, it's nothing special, but I don't think spam robots are filling out forms on forum websites yet, so I don't see any harm in letting anyone say whatever they want (and of course, running the database, still retaining the ability to delete egregious offtopic things like trying to sell your new sex toy).

Well,
IMO, there are too many places for discussion about OO/Neo/NeoJ to take place. Trinity forums are the best place, since they are clearly organized, with the "random whatnot" fallback.
So the article page seems redundant, taking into account the still alive OOodocs forum.
The risk is to miss some part of the story, or more work to cross post.
unfortunatly that is a result of nuke, lots of places to post things.
i had a /. mod to PHPBB which was great. Any first post could be news and then the comments were just the rest of the thread. (one of these days my yet to be published linux page will use that) it would keep eveyrhting closer.
However. We've set up things here already. Makes it harder to move things about.

I think the forums are definitely the best place for discussion, both here and ooodocs. I don't think the articles are a place for general discussion but rather a place for announcements or progress tracking or important tips/realizations or what have you. The funny thing is that the articles tend to link back into the forums

=) so we just gotta keep our eyes open.
That actually sounds like an incredibly useful phpbb mod. I'm not adverse to shifting things about myself, but would probably need some pointers on how to shift info around the database to transition.
Yeah, Nuke almost definitely suffers from trying to do too much, and the phpBB portion of it tends to be the most useful. Telling is the crosslinking between the forums, articles, and faq modules. Bleh. Any better organizational tips?
