|
Would it be possible to have ftp protocol for dowloading Neo/J (and Neo in the future) beside the http one?
Today I tried to dld Neo/J 0.7. After few hours the server (neooffice.sixthcrusade.com in this case) stop responding for a while and the download stopped. Safari save temp files somewhere, but I don't remember where and I presume it delete them in case of failure. So I have no hope to resume transfert at the 80Mo already done!
To try again, I would like to use resumable ftp transfert protocol with curl or Transmit.
I tried to connect to planamesa and sixthcrusade with FTP but anonymous login were rejected.
Any suggestion? |

Max,
I suggest you to use the command-line-tool curl for download. You can use it to resume http-downloads, too:
Code: |
/usr/bin/curl -C - -O http://www.planamesa.com/neojava/downloads/NeoOfficeJ-0.7.dmg
|
Thomas[/code] |

Unfortunately, my web hosting company does not provide anonymous ftp. Also, I think Safari deletes the temporary file if the download fails.
What you may want to do is download the file using curl from the beginning. The command on the download page will do that just fine.

The fun of this story is that I translated the Neo/J download page and nevertheless forgot that it was there!
I searched the forums because I remembered something about curl and http url…
Sorry for the dumb question. |

However, an anonymous FTP i believe is possible on my server. I'll look into it when i get back home (and off dialup)
